Any true Quentin Tarantino fan will tell you that part of what makes his movies so engaging is the intense, genre-bending dialogue present in his scripts. Characters can draw out a long scene, dissecting Madonna’s “Like A Virgin” (Reservoir Dogs), quoting fake bible verses in a threatening fashion (Pulp Fiction), or even interrogating innocent Jews (Inglorious Basterds), but never does it feel like you aren’t getting your money’s worth–probably because all that tension and talking is preparing the audience for a mind-blowing, oft-violent payoff.
